How to play
How NBA Grid works
Each square sits under one label and beside another: a team, a stat, a big game, a position, an era or a teammate. Name a player who fits both. You have 9 guesses in all, and a wrong one still uses a guess.
Each player can fill one square. A right answer scores 1 to 3 points: the rarer the name, the more it scores, up to 27.
FAQ
How is rarity worked out?
From how often a player has appeared in our data at first, then, once 20 people have filled a square, from how many of them named the same player: under 5% scores 3, under 25% scores 2.
Does a team mean the whole franchise?
Yes. A team label covers the club or franchise under its current name.
Is it the same for everyone?
Yes. Everyone gets the same grid, with a new one at midnight UK time. Play another gives you a fresh practice grid that doesn't count.
Does it go on the leaderboards?
Signed in, today's grid does, and it counts in your leagues. Sign in the same day and a grid you played signed out moves to your account.
