How the Premier League quiz works

Every day you get 10 real Premier League results from 2002/03 to now. For each one, name a player from either team. If they scored, you win 3 points. If they played, even five minutes off the bench, you get 1. If they weren't in the game, you get nothing.

One guess per game, and the search never shows a player's club, so it's down to what you remember. Stuck? The free hint tells you how many scorers each team had. The paid hint gives you a scorer's initials, but a scorer is then worth 2 instead of 3. Own goals count as played, not scored.

A perfect 30 makes you a Certified ball knower. 20 or more is Proper ball knowledge, 10 or more is Ballsy guesses, and anything under 10 sends you Back to the sofa.

FAQ

How does scoring work?

A player who scored in that game wins 3 points. One who played but didn't score gets 1, and anyone who wasn't in the game gets 0. With the paid hint a scorer is worth 2. Ten games, so the best score is 30.

Where do the games come from?

Real Premier League matches from 2002/03 to now, with the actual scorers and line-ups, subs included. Goalless draws are left out.

When do new games come out?

Every day at midnight UK time. Everyone gets the same 10 Premier League games that day, so you can compare scores with your mates. Play every day to keep your streak going.

Is it free?

Yes. There's no paywall and you don't need to sign up to play. The paid hint costs you a point, not money. A free account keeps your streaks and scores on any device.
