HOW TO PLAY

  • Every day there are 10 real NFL results. For each one, name a player from either team.
  • TOUCHDOWN = WIN, 3 points. PLAYED (took at least one snap) = DRAW, 1 point. DIDN'T PLAY = LOSS, 0.
  • Passing touchdowns don't count. A quarterback wins only by running one in.
  • Free hint: how many players scored a touchdown for each team.
  • Paid hint: a touchdown scorer's initials. Using it makes a win worth 2.
  • One guess per game. Skip scores 0.
  • The search never shows a player's team.
  • New games at midnight UK time. Data: nflverse.

How to play

How the NFL quiz works

Every day you get 10 real NFL results from the 2013 season onwards. For each one, name a player from either team. If they scored a touchdown, you win 3 points. If they took at least one snap, you get 1. If they didn't play, you get 0.

Passing touchdowns don't count, so a quarterback only wins you 3 if he ran one in himself. Rushing, receiving, return and defensive touchdowns all count. The free hint tells you how many players scored a touchdown for each team; the paid hint gives you a scorer's initials, which makes a win worth 2.

A perfect 30 makes you a Certified ball knower. 20 or more is Proper ball knowledge, 10 or more is Ballsy guesses, and anything under 10 sends you Back to the sofa.

FAQ

How does scoring work?

A touchdown is 3 points, at least one snap is 1, and not playing is 0. Ten games, so 30 is perfect. A win with the paid hint is worth 2.

Why don't passing touchdowns count?

Because throwing one isn't scoring one: the catch belongs to the receiver. A quarterback only wins you 3 if he ran it in himself.

Where do the games come from?

Real NFL games from the 2013 season to now, with touchdowns and snap counts from nflverse. Games where nobody scored a touchdown are left out.

When do new games come out?

Every day at midnight UK time. Everyone gets the same 10 NFL games that day, so you can compare scores with your mates. Play every day to keep your streak going.
