How the Champions League quiz works

Every day you get 10 real Champions League results from 2002/03 to now, from the group stage and league phase through the knockouts to the final. For each one, name a player from either team. A scorer wins you 3 points, anyone who played (subs count) gets 1, and someone who wasn't in the game gets 0.

One guess per game, and the search never shows a player's club. The free hint tells you how many scorers each team had. The paid hint gives you a scorer's initials, which makes a win worth 2. Own goals count as played.

A perfect 30 makes you a Certified ball knower. 20 or more is Proper ball knowledge, 10 or more is Ballsy guesses, and anything under 10 sends you Back to the sofa.

How does scoring work?

Scored is 3 points, played is 1 and not in the game is 0, across 10 games, so 30 is perfect. Using the paid hint drops a scorer to 2.

Where do the games come from?

Real Champions League matches from 2002/03 to now: group stage, league phase, knockout rounds and finals, with the real scorers and line-ups.

Is this the same as Win the Champions League?
